| It is #1 in the steam locomotive that was used in Japan. This locomotive was built by Valcan Foundry of Britain in 1871. In 1872, the first Japanese railway was opened between Tokyo and Yokohama. At that time the 10 locomotives were imported from Britain and used. In 1906 the #1 was renamed to 150 class. In 1958, it was registered to the railway memorial object. And now, it is registered to the nation important cultural asset. |
