JNR's steam locomotive D51 class Type 1

Umekoji Railway Museum
The D51 type 1 is the first designed locomotive of this class. From 1936 to 1938, the manufacturing industries, Kisha-Seizo, Kawasaki, and Hitachi, had produced the 95 cars of this class. This form adopted the design of a streamline partially. It was the prevalence of the 1930's. However, it was changed from the next models because the balance of axis weight is bad. Then now the 18 locomotives are preserved in the Umekoji steam locomotives museum and other place.
