Hawaiian-Philippine Company (HPCo) Railway
Established in 1918 during the American colonial period by sugar planters and investors from Hawaii, HPCo was one of the long-established sugar companies that operated based on the Hawaiian plantation model. The proportion of rail transport dropped sharply due to the sugar price collapse in 1983, and railway operations were discontinued in the 1990s.
